Third Annual Pine Mountain Pulldown
October 8th –October 10th 2010

We pride ourselves on having built our events
around promoting eco-friendly events, and we have done everything we
possibly can to ensure that the Pine Mountain Competition will be one
of the most environmentally responsible human powered competitions in
the West. Our track record includes years of outdoor event promotion,
and in all cases we left absolutely nothing behind but good memories

To sum up our environmental plans:

  • We will be competing only in areas deemed suitable by the
US Forest Service per a biological and archeological review
  • We have coordinated an Adopt-a-Crag with the Access Fund
to ensure Pine Mountain is cleaner when we leave then when we arrived
  • We have a volunteer sign-up link for the event on our web
site and will be encouraging people throughout the event to stay behind and participate in it
  • We will be clearly marking established trails to prevent
erosion, and we'll be encouraging people to use those trails.
  • We are doing everything we can to remind people to avoid
leaving trash -- but there will also be trash cans throughout the
    venue
  • There will be porta-potties on site for all the participants
  • The event is powered by the sun thanks to REC Solar
  • Participants will be bussed up to the comp area to avoid
    traffic and car-related pollution
  • We are only setting established climbs to keep people
from climbing in new and/or sensitive areas
  • We have organized to have trash cans and recycle
    receptacles for water bottles, etc
